Ticket Brokers

Every time I buy tickets for a concert or sporting events, I am disappointed by the seat that I get.  Today I bought tickets for The Police.  Tickets went on sale at 10:00 AM, I buy the time I entered in seats and other information, it was 10:01 when the system started searching for tickets.  The system came back and said that the last row in that price range was available.  So dropped to a lower price range and still got the last row.  OK, I will buy the tickets.

On hunch I went to some ticket broker sites and seats in the last row, like mine, in a  section that is further away are all ready selling for more than 2 times the face value.  Hmm…who are these people that get these tickets and all ready selling them?  My guess is companies that do nothing than buy tickets and resale them.  Seems a bit fishy.  I actually asked the KC Chiefs personnel about this once.  All they said was they limit ticket purchases to 4 per person.  How does that stop companies from buy tickets and reselling them?  Something should be done about this.

Or maybe I just need to start doing this.  This would be a better retirement plan than my 401K.  Double ever dollar that you put in, could retire in a couple of years.

And don’t even get me started with Ticketmaster, they charge $2.50 to give you the convenience of allowing you to print your own tickets.  They don’t have print the tickets themselves, no postage, and no packaging.  They should give you a discount.
