Lyle came to town this week and I happened to get the best tickets at the last minute, free. And to make it even better, the tickets were from a Sprint rep who gave them to a friend. After asking several of my firends to go with me, I found out that most people don’t know much about Lyle other than that he was married to Julia Roberts. Well, his music is western swing country with some jazz. He writes a good number of the songs he sings and he is writes a lot of songs that are used in the movies.

Went and saw Buffett at Wrigley last Sunday, September 4 (a Labor Day weekend show). This Cardinals fan had to swallow his pride and go visit the home of the evil Cubs to see Buffett. Amy, Randy, Christine (Buffett virgin), Mike, Todd (another Buffett virgin), Stacie, and Ann started the day off by eating at Geno’s East. The we headed to a pre-concert gathering and had a few beverages, then went to the concert. Buffett played two of my favorite songs, ‘Woman on Caroline Street’ and ‘School Boy Heart’. And since the beer man made frequent trips to my section, I got to hear ‘Southern Cross’ and ‘Margaritaville’ unlike the last Buffett concert I went to.
